Kintsugi
Kintsugi is a Japanese restoration technique in which, rather than disguise and hide the breaks and cracks, they are enriched and enhaced with gold.
It is the art of celebrating wounds and giving value to our scars, both visible and invisible, they are the proof that we have faced and overcome difficulties. They reveal our story, show that we “survived,” and instill courage.
Carefully repaired, the damaged object becomes stronger, more beautiful, and more precious than it was before shattering. A metaphor for every healing process, whether physical or emotional. As ceramic is renewed through fracture lines, so we can learn the importance of fragility to grow through our painful experiences, appreciate them, and understand that they make us unique and precious.
